Board of Education Appreciation Week!
The Westbury Union Free School District is joining other school districts across the state during the month of October to celebrate New York School Board Appreciation Week. We honor our school board members for their commitment to serving the students, employees, parents, and other stakeholders of the Westbury UFSD. We thank the Members of the Board of Education for having the courage to engage in tough conversations and make difficult decisions for the betterment of our students.
We thank them for their governance and the role that they play in championing and advocating for quality education for all students.

The Westbury Board of Education is the authorized state agency responsible for setting educational policy in the school district. It consists of seven trustees who serve three-year terms.
The terms are staggered so that either two or three of the trustees are elected by the district’s voters each spring at the annual election and budget vote.
They pay school taxes at the regular rate and receive no salary or other financial compensation. A minimum of four trustees constitutes a quorum and four trustees must vote affirmatively to pass any motion.
