Dear Westbury School District Family and School Community,

With great joy and renewed purpose, I welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year. As we continue our powerful theme, Here for Kids, I invite you to join us in a collective commitment to making this year one of growth, inspiration, and unwavering support for every scholar.

Being Here for Kids is more than a motto. It is a mindset. It is a promise that we will center our children in every decision we make. It reflects our belief that every child deserves a safe and inclusive environment, access to a high qualityeducation, and adults who care deeply about their success and well-being.

This commitment is reflected not only in our classrooms and programs, but also in the structure of our 2025–2026 school calendar. Every aspect of the calendar was designed with our scholars’ needs in mind:

• Intentional breaks and recognitions have been built in to support scholar and staff/faculty wellness throughout the year. These breaks also reflect and celebrate the incredible diversity of our beloved Westbury community, recognizing the wide range of holidays and cultural observances that are meaningful to the families we serve as well as our staff and faculty.

• Professional development opportunities are scheduled to ensure our staff and faculty are continuously growing in their craft, bringing innovative, inclusive, and effective practices into our classrooms.

• Family engagement opportunities are planned throughout the year to strengthen the vital partnership between home and school.

• A strong academic rhythm supports consistent learning, while also honoring cultural holidays and community values that ensure our calendar is both rigorous and responsive.

This calendar is not just a schedule. It is a reflection of our core values. It tells a story of a district that listens, that leads with heart, and that never loses sight of why we are here. We are here for kids! We are here to challenge them, support them, and believe in them every single day.
