Our parents and families are our most cherished partners in educating our childen.  We strive to have an open dialogue in support of a home-school connection. We are consistently improving our curriculum and instruction as a result of the implementation of the shifts to the Next Generation Learning Standards. We understand the complexities of this change and will provide parents with the necessary support to make the shifts that we are experiencing as well.

Please visit our website to access resources pertinent to the implementation of our resources and the Parent Tip Sheets for Parent Teacher Conferences. We encourage you to join our Family and Community Engagement Advisory Council which produce several projects driven by your focus. Some of the focused areas include:

    • Family and Community Cafés
      • Our families identify a focus of interest and with the support of our staff and community partnerships, develop a comprehensive session that includes, but is not limited to: designated location, keynote speaker, workshop presentation, interactive tools to support the family and home connections, amongst other details.
    • Student Led Conferences
      • Students are the drivers of their own learning and are given the opportunity to inform their families of the areas that they are most proud of learning and areas to improve upon.  The experiences have supported our students to validate their learning and sustain their level of commitment to continuous improvement.
    • Open Schools Concept
      • Our families have requested to visit classrooms in the most organic and authentic fashion.  It provides an opportunity for our families to schedule their time effectively to witness their children learn during daily instruction and make meaningful connections with teachers and the school building staff.
