Grand opening of North Hempstead "Yes We Can" Community Center

The Grand Opening of the North Hempstead "Yes We Can" Community Center is scheduled for this Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 12:30 pm– 141 Garden Street, Westbury NY.

For many this is a decade long dream that stemmed from the 2002 Visioning and for others this has been in the making for forty plus years. In just a few days it will become a reality when the North Hempstead “Yes We Can” Community Center that houses all of the amenities that you asked for will be opening its doors.  As residents who have placed their pride and passion for their community ahead of any obstacles that came our way, we say thank you.

Please join  in celebrating on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 12:30 pm for a momentous and full day Grand Opening.

The opening program is as follows:

 *   12:30 pm – Welcome
 *     1:00 pm – Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
 *     2:00 pm – 6:00 pm – Opening of Facility
    *   Tours of Building
    *   North Hempstead Exhibition Games - Gymnasium
    *   Dance Instruction (Contemporary, African, Zumba) – Dance Studio
    *   Health Screenings – Project Independence Senior Lounge
 *   6:00 pm – 10:00 pm “Community Cultural Sounds”  Live Bands– Banquet Rm 2nd Fl.
    *   7:00 pm FORMUL-LA - Haitian Creole, Caribbean Kompa
    *   8:00 pm Westbury All Star Ensemble - Jazz, R&B
    *   9:00 pm Triple M Fiesta - Latin Salsa, Meringue
