Drexel Avenue School is one of two schools in Westbury serving the educational needs of the children in grades three, four, and five. The staff works diligently to develop a stimulating and dynamic curriculum that addresses the new State standards in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Support for those students in need is provided through after-school programs, mentoring, and tutoring. Enrichment programs are provided for all students, expanding their knowledge and skills. The library and computer rooms are sources of information that enhance each child’s educational experience through technology.

Parents, staff and administrators actively participate in decision making and in the development of programs at Drexel. Highly successful and well-attended parent workshops address the new State testing, safety in schools, and other relevant and important issues. Drexel is a family where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. A safe and supportive place like Drexel is a wonderful environment in which to learn.
