Our children are our most
precious flowers waiting to bloom. We
have an obligation to provide equal access to a challenging educational
experience for all children. For this reason, we embrace our mosaic of children
that bring a variety of ingredients to a perfect combination. It is their curiosity and our ability to
engage them with the
thought of question that enables us to let them
flourish. Mahatma Ghandi stated, “an
ounce of practice is worth more than tons of preaching.” Although we face many
challenges in education, we must never forget that we shape the world of
tomorrow. What we do today with children
will set the course of our future. The
Westbury faculty has made this fruition for many of the children in
Westbury.
In the movie Life of PI, the young boy learns from
his experiences on his journey home. It
is important that our children understand that the journey was the most
important part of the boy’s life, not arriving to what we consider
civilization.
